Promoscreen_7.0_Journey_to_the_West_1200x600_WoWSL.jpg

Starting January 27, we'll celebrate Lunar New Year, drawing inspiration from the Chinese classic novel "Journey to the West"! Embark on a journey with Sun Wukong—the legendary Monkey King, reimagined as a Commander guise compatible with any nation—alongside his magnificent ship, Pan-Asian Tier VII Premium cruiser Wukong! And don't forget to try on the new ship skins inspired by other characters from the novel: Zhu Bajie, Sha Wujing, and Tang Sanzang.

Plus, we're bringing back themed content from past Lunar New Year events, including the Celestial Guardian Commander guise, now featuring a daily bonus, plus several Pan-Asian and Japanese ships in ornate skins.

Both the new and old Lunar New Year content will be available through Lunar New Year '25 crates, which you can find in the Store or receive for free through the main campaign, the Journey to the West mission, or special missions for select Pan-Asian and Japanese ships. Moreover, the new crate has a chance to drop a completely new ship: Japanese Tier VI Premium cruiser Tokachi. We'll reveal more details soon in a dedicated article.

Jinan Bureau Project

Meet Jinan—a new ship that will be available for research in the Bureau starting January 27! This Legendary Tier light cruiser can unleash 20 powerful, stealthy deepwater torpedoes from her four quintuple-tube launchers (enhanced by the Torpedo Reload Booster consumable), and she boasts excellent concealment, maneuverability, and speed. In addition to the ship, you'll also receive the special "The Four Elements" skin for Jinan, Pan-Asian Commander Chen Shaokuan, and various resources. One more bonus: You can earn the Jinan flag through the Journey to the West mission.

Promoscreen_7.0_Battles_of_the_Java_Sea_1200x600_WoWSL-1.jpg

In the final week of the update, starting February 24, we'll launch a new historical event to commemorate three famous battles of 1942: the Battle of the Java Sea, the Battle of Sunda Strait, and the Second Battle of the Java Sea. During the event, check the Store for ships that participated in these battles: Yūdachi, Suzuya, Exeter, and Perth, with the latter available as part of a bundle with historical Commonwealth Commander Harold B. Farncomb. Don't forget to complete the "Across the Java Sea" mission to receive British, American, and Japanese national camouflages.

Fleet Cup: Season 3

The Fleet Cup returns for its third season! Join a Fleet Division and participate in this 5v5 single-elimination tournament featuring Tier VIII ships. The rewards include Steel; credits; camouflages; Commander Progression Items; and the new Fleet Cup flag, base, and patch. The Fleet Cup will run every Saturday and Sunday during this update, starting from February 1. Only Tier VIII ships are allowed, with a maximum of two battleships per team.

Ranked Battles: Seasons 70–72

Sail into the new seasons of Ranked Battles and compete for rewards in teams of five:

  • Season 70: January 29 – February 3; only Tier IV ships
  • Season 71: February 5 – February 10; only Tier V ships

Promoscreen_7.0_Codex_1200x600_WoWSL.jpg

Meet the brand-new Codex—a knowledge base where you can find essential info about ships, Commanders, and game mechanics. It will help you master the game and sharpen your tactics. To access the Codex, check the corresponding new tab next to the Settings tab in the main menu. Over time, the Codex will feature more and more articles, so stay tuned!

Discounts on Select Tech Tree Ships

The beginning of the year is the perfect time to strengthen your fleet with a few new ships! Take a look at the discounts available during this update:

  • 20% off Japanese battleship Izumo (January 27 – March 3)
  • 20% off French battleship Alsace (January 27 – March 3)
  • 30% off Pan-Asian Tech Tree ships of Tier IV–VIII (January 27 – March 3)

Chkalov Nerf

Due to the holiday season, our development time for balance changes was limited to avoid risking the introduction of bugs or other issues. This prevented us from making quick adjustments to Chkalov until now. In this update, we're introducing a couple of nerfs to Chkalov's deadly skip bombers to make them less powerful and require more preparation to use. Most notably, her bombs will now require an additional "skip" to arm and detonate.

  • The number of required bounces for skip bombs was increased from 1 to 2
  • Skip bomb maximum damage was reduced from 12,500 to 10,500

Improvements and Bug Fixes

  • Premium Account now extends Bureau progress to continue for an additional 24 hours after you log out, meaning your progress will only pause after 48 hours of inactivity.

  • The account menu now includes information about Premium Account and offers a quick way to purchase it. Additionally, you can now buy days of Premium Account directly from the post-battle screen and upgrade the results of your last battle to Premium.

You must be at least at Account Level 3.
  • Each Tech Tree branch now features a description and key traits to help you easily choose between different nations and ship types. To view them, select the desired branch and tap the info icon in the top-right corner.
  • Some Tech Tree branches have also been complemented by a Legendary ship from the Bureau to complete the ship line.
  • Fixed an issue where the light version of the game would crash for some players in Arcade Battles.
  • Fixed a bug where enemy aircraft icons also featured target selection markers.

Get ready for an exciting new year of battles—it's time to turn the tide!
