I've got one wish for this game, well two. 1, success, and 2, for people to stop talking about bloody WoTc on this forum.

Curious to see how this will work. Hoping it to be a bit more like Battlestations Midway/Pacific then WoWs on PC. But curious to try it and getting little excited to try it too.

Greetings! We've received some questions about whose game it is. Let's make it clear and not leave any room for wild guesses🙂 The game is developed within Wargaming Saint-Petersburg, the studio which gave birth to World of Warships PC and some older titles before, back when it was known as Lesta Studio. The Legends team core was created long time ago (when the project was internally approved in Wargaming) with several key World of Warships PC developers and several newly hired console specialists. Since then the team has grown independently. It's still very compact compared to WoWS PC, because we can safely steal...uh...borrow...uh...share a lot of 3D assets from the PC game. As for the community relations, the key responsible figures are Sub_Octavian (me), Philigula (by the way we're both Phils and we're based in St. Pete studio as well - but we're not brothers) and a couple of great guys based in WoWS PC EU and NA teams. They will join us a bit later with community growth to ensure quality sustained communications in major languages and time zones. I was working on WoWS PC since Alpha, and many players know me very well. I made many mistakes and learned even more lessons, but overall, I hope I did manage to create a friendly, open and appealing dev-player interaction there, which in turn has helped a lot of player-driven changes to happen. Now I am intending to use all of my experience and efforts to make this community the best place for you guys. Philigula joined my team around a year ago. He's super fluent English speaker, energetic, and he actually likes Legends more than PC version. He also used to troll the rest of my team too much. Hence, he was appointed to do all the work while I relax and write PSAs like this 😛 Both of us are in tight contact with key developers, so rest assured, we won't be just "talking heads" - instead we will be pushing your questions, concerns and argument to the team, and vice versa - so that the game thrives. Of course there will be more people involved, but it will mostly be on service level, and will depend on work load. To sum up, the team is compact, experienced, tightly connected, and is willing to provide many great moments for you guys. I am counting on you as well, because very soon we will start building the base for the future game community together. How would we treat newcomers? Will we be able to foster friendly and interesting discussion? What would people say about Legends "playerbase"? It's all on us. We're excited about this challenge. By the way, we're going through your Alpha Test applications and there's a lot, no, A LOT of them. This level of engagement from you makes us smile! (Okay, it makes me smile as happily as I can, and probably makes Philigula work overnight and cry, but on average, we're smiling). Thank you! We will be telling you more about our progress, team and other interesting stuff in the days to come. Follow the news. And if you're interested in such blog-style updates, let us know in the comments and maybe hint at what are you interested in. Cheers!

Gordon Lightfoot, The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald. The Beach Boys, Sloop John B. The Village People, In the Navy. When we finally get to play, these three songs are going on an endless loop which I will happily broadcast over my in game mic. for everyone to enjoy. Your welcome. I tried to use the sarcastic grinning sailor emoji, but the emojis must be drunk and this one kept inserting itself. If I cant indicate sarcasm with some of my posts, I may get banned. lol.

keeping in mind, that Ships was designed at it's core as "rock paper scissors" gimmicky abilities and counters should exist. modules like that are there to increase a playstyles effectiveness even if it is stale and boring, but with a line of sight change, that forces the cruisers to either peak around that island hes been docked at for the past 5 minutes, or let the DD actually fulfill its roll as a flag capper. 20 secods of island penetrating radar is still enough for a DD to die. ESPECIALLY when BB AP still doesn't care. (glad thats being looked into)

Agreed on the Merc line. The one which is being delivered is nowhere near what the community had asked for, but is completely in keeping with the current majority of the player base, and those new customer that they're trying and failing to gain. I'm so glad to know that WGCB have nothing to do with this. Gives me some hope that there'll be a bit of consistency in messages being delivered. Having said that, I reckon I've derailed the thread enough for now.

+1 for your gamer tag! I’m giggling every time I read it.... Welcome aboard!

i have a better proposition. how about radar lasts only 20 seconds for Russians and 25 for american ships. and give it a juicy cool down. This way, players parking their radar ships behind islands are a waste if they don't do anything else and us humble DD players stay on their toes instead of blindly rushing the cap. one thing is important. No stupid and overpowered gimmicks and counter gimmicks. This stuff gets old pretty fast. And no gamebreaking modules like the 40% radar thing.

I'd agree with that. Whilst there has to be a certain degree of secrecy, nowhere near the extent that is used in WoTC is required. It is as you say, almost National Security or States Secret Act levels of paranoia that go on over there. I'd honestly love to know where it stems from.

I think one of the biggest mistakes the console tanks team made was treating asset development like a national security matter. There was never any excitement generated from new tanks or lines because they wouldn't tell us what they were doing. The Dev Blog for WoWs PC is fantastic. We can see what's close to release, what's still being tested, and what's further down the pipeline. Look how much buzz Prinz Eitel Friedrich has generated, and we don't even know when it will be released yet. Same goes for upcoming changes in mechanics, consumables, etc. Just having an idea what's in store is a big deal. Please don't lose that openness on the console version.

I haven't played the PC version so as to speak to specific mechanics, but from my experience on WoT console, I would say communicate the expectations early. You will have a mix of only console players like myself, but a lot of PC players that will expect a direct port of PC WoW. If it is not going to be a direct port--make that clear early. I don't know what views the PC community have on the PC game (balance, mechanics, clan wars?), but a lot of PC tankers are unhappy with the console game on the forum because of expectations created by the PC game. It all began with packages vs modules. If you will be creating the console version with delay from a PC server version--make that clear early on. If you are going to do things differently, make that clear early on. Be clear about balance updates--time frames and whether they follow PC. Be clear about limitations imposed by the game systems. Keep the community updated, but don't make promises you can't keep. Refer to possible releases as 1st quarter, 2nd quarter, etc as opposed to seasons that people do not know the actual start/end dates or are different around the world. It's ok to say we would like to implement whatever by latter half of a year but no promises. Be careful about complete surprises--rarely do those seem to turn out well--vet your ideas with some trusted players. Remember that a leak can be a good thing and that leaks are better than dead on arrival. Have the community manager organize and/or maintain some type of feedback loop with the community--like an issue board or something that individuals can be directed to with their questions that have already been answered. Planned changes or considerations could be on that board with a red, yellow, green system indicating how well they are progressing. Many questions will be asked over and over again about any perceived problems with the game. Accusations of never addressing questions occur. Non-answers are viewed in a very negative light. Use your community members--either officially or unofficially, but actually use them for projects for the community--particularly early in the release when enthusiasm will be high. Finally, gameplay above all else. Somethings may sound cool to implement, but remember people come to play a game.

Can't say that I'm a specialist per se (never played WoWS on pc), best I can do is provide emotional support. I also provide coping with arty seminars for WOTC for a small nominal fee

I'd honestly like the option to have the secondaries as auto or manual. But definitely agree that the blueprints should not be RNG based. It just makes it a pain when trying to upgrade a ship.

Yeah, what He said. I tend to ignore forums in general because most of the comments are negative, whiny, or become dominated by people who had a rough day in real life and troll the web taking his disappointment with life on others. Let's keep this one pure

From WOWS PC: bring over the ability to turn off special camos (ie. spaceships, anime, etc.) Also from PC I like the ability to move captains between tech tree ships and premium ships at no cost. Please don't put the "Epicenter" game mode into the console version.
