The Swedish show off battleship Karl XIV Johan as the final reward of the 5-week, 100 milestone campaign this update. She's armed with twelve 12-inch (305 mm) guns with a fast reload and a pair of quadruple-tube torpedo launchers per side. Like last update, you can complete this campaign's missions in the Versus AI mode as well as Standard Battles. Let's see what rewards are in store for you:

You will take command of specially designed spaceships and their Commanders, with shields and special abilities to use against the Alldestroyer.

The event brings new space-themed ships, skins, Commander guises, and rewards aplenty. Plus, the Space Port returns for consoles.

Japanese Light Cruisers in Early Access

Art_Shimanto_JP_CA_realistic_1920x1080_WG_BG_WoWSL.jpg

We're pleased to introduce a new Tech Tree line for Japan, featuring light cruisers of Tier IV and upward. This update, the first four will be available in Early Access: Agano, Gokase, Omono, and Shimanto. These cruisers carry heavy torpedo armament, with turning torpedoes starting from Omono that allow them to launch at aggressive angles. An abundance of main battery guns and solid concealment provide plenty of utility to these torpedo-slinging warships. There's also a slick series of "Fleet Review" skins for the ships available.

For the anniversary of Yamato's final mission, a short series of missions will feature this legendary battleship from April 4 through 11. Completing them will earn you some rewards, including a few Japanese Cruisers crates.

Tier VIII cruiser Takahashi will become available for research next update.

The Night Warrior Calendar

EN_Japanese_Calendar_Screenshot_1200x675_WG_BG_WOWSL_1.png

To complement the new set of light cruisers, a new historical Commander is available for the Japanese Tech Tree: Matsuji Ijūin. His abilities are geared around improving the torpedo performance of your Japanese cruisers, featuring a new skill and unique base trait:

Base Trait: Speed Is My Weapon

  • Increase torpedo speed by up to 1.5 kts
  • Increase ship maximum movement speed by up to 2%

Legendary Skill: Killing Distance

  • Reduce torpedo detectability by 50/100/150/200 meters
  • Increase torpedo range by 3%/4%/5%/6%
  • Increase cruiser torpedo damage by up to 10%/13%/17%/20%, depending on the distance traveled, reaching max damage at max range.

On your way to unlocking this Commander, you can earn plenty of rewards and some Japanese Cruisers crates. The Calendar replaces daily missions for the first 3 weeks, but fear not: Doubloon Week is still on schedule for the 2nd week of the Calendar.

Steel Ship: Daisen

EN_Daisen_JP_T8_BB_Screenshot_1200x675_WG_BG_WOWSL_1.jpg

The Forge gains a new ship this update: Japanese Tier VIII battleship Daisen. This large battlecruiser enjoys eight accurate and high-velocity guns, great torpedoes, and uniquely improved consumables. Her Engine Boost provides a short-duration burst of speed that can send her up above 40 knots, and her Enhanced Secondary Targeting is the best in the game.

She appears in the Forge for 25,000 Steel.

Mobile: Global Release!

This update marks the global release of World of Warships: Legends on mobile for iOS and Android devices on March 27. You can now access the game anywhere on the go, sailing the seas, sinking your opponents, completing Bureau tasks, daily missions, and more from your phone or tablet.

Plus, more improvements are arriving this update:

  • Full Commander support (Legendary skills, guises, and voiceovers)
  • Calendar support
  • Store coupons
  • Improvements to touch controls (improved recognition of when the finger leaves the screen outside the button area)
  • Performance improvements for Lower end devices

Balance Changes

This update brings another edition of Ministry of Balance, bringing improvements to many ships:

  • Buffs to selected Italian destroyers and French large cruisers
  • Buffs to Resistance and Leone
  • Buffs to Hawke and Saint Louis
  • Nerfs to Alaska and Stalingrad
  • Small economy changes to some Tier VIII ships

Plus, there are changes coming to the spawn points on many maps to help even out the experience of the beginning of battle.

For more details on these changes, be sure to read the Ministry of Balance article published alongside the patch notes here.

Improvements to Fleets

April showers bring two new Fleet features! Firstly, your Fleet callsigns will now be visible next to your name in leaderboards, in-game battle log, in-game player lists, and the post-battle results screen. This is a big upgrade for recognizing fellow Fleet members or notable Fleets in the community while in-game, we hope you like it!

That's not all; we're making it easier to find Fleets and potential recruits in-game by adding a "Looking for Fleet" feature, similar to "Looking for Division." Players who aren't a part of a Fleet can mark themselves as looking for a Fleet, and Fleet leaders can view a list of these players to invite them directly to their Fleet.

We know many of you are eagerly awaiting the return of Fleet Battles as well, but we ask that you remain patient as we continue working on improvements to the game mode for its next iteration.

Bug Fixes & Miscellaneous

Mobile Bug Fixes

  • Fixed duplication of the "Back" button when demounting upgrades in some situations.
  • Fixed Commander names being cut off on the Commanders screen.
  • Fixed Minimap covering Epic and Legendary modification buff icons.

Prepare for the spring surge and turn the tide!
