Bureau Overview: Vermont and Z-52
This update has delivered a double feature to the Bureau. Let's break down these two Projects!
Legendary Destroyer Z-52
Destroyer Z-52 features a bow-heavy main battery arrangement, with two turrets forward and one on the stern, each housing two 128 mm guns. She has decent concealment and respectable torpedo armament.
One of the destroyer's key highlights is her exceptionally competitive consumable loadout for her tier, featuring Smoke Generator, Engine Boost, and Sonar with a powerful 5.9 km detection range and 122-second duration.
The combination of her solid main battery firepower, concealment, and consumable loadout arguably makes her one of the best gunboats for contesting and securing objectives at her tier. By positioning yourself within a Key Area and activating your Sonar consumable, you can effectively deny the enemy access for 2 minutes, significantly influencing the outcome of battle.
We recommend the following Commander build: Erich Bey with his base trait Shifty, which improves your destroyer’s detectability by up to 4%.
For the skill selection:
- Contact is Imminent: Increasing your torpedo speed by up to 4 knots.
- Look at Me Now: Improving your sea detectability range by up to 6%.
- Perceptive: Reducing incoming damage to your destroyer by up to 3%, extending your torpedo detection range by up to 5%, and providing a constant on-screen marker indicating the direction of the nearest enemy ship.
- Smoke on the Water: Enhancing both your smoke screen dispersion and deployment time by up to 8%.
- Unstoppable: Speeding up engine repair time by up to 15% and allowing limited mobility with a disabled engine/rudder.
For inspirations:
- William Sims: Boosting your ship's total HP by up to 3,600 points.
- Jerzy Świrski: Enhancing your ship's sea detectability range by up to 4%.
Legendary Battleship Vermont
Vermont embodies traditional U.S. battleship characteristics that you might already be familiar with in World of Warships: Legends, featuring both strong armor and effective anti-aircraft defenses. Her main battery consists of twelve accurate and powerful 457 mm guns. However, the ship sacrifices mobility as a result, requiring you to consider careful positioning to avoid getting trapped. Be cautious in engagements and utilize Vermont's strengths to break through enemy lines effectively.
We recommend the following Commander build: William Sims with his base trait Built to Last, improving Vermont's HP by up to 3,600 health points.
For the skill selection:
- Flammable Cannonier: Increasing your battleship's main battery range by up to 8% and shell grouping by up to 5%, but also increasing your chances of being set on fire by up to 13%.
- Crisscross: Improving the traverse speed of your battleship’s guns by up to 1.2°/s.
- Marksmanship: Improving your main battery dispersion by up to 10%, but worsening your rudder-shift time by 5%.
- Emergency Specialist: Reducing your Damage Control Party cooldown time by up to 30% but also reducing its duration by 70%. This allows for more frequent activation of the consumable at the cost of having a much shorter duration.
- Fight Fire with Fire: Removing damage over time effects (fire/flooding) when you have three active fires while your Damage Control Party is on cooldown. Also reduces fire damage to your ship by 15% for each active fire.
For inspirations:
- Angelo Iachino: Improving your shell grouping when shooting at battleships, cruisers, and destroyers by up to 3% for battleships, 7% for cruisers, and 3% for destroyers.
- Paolo di Revel: Improving your battleship's main battery reload time by up to 5.5%.
