Through the Spy Glass: Francesco Ferruccio

The Francesco Ferruccio project, designed in 1939, was part of a program that involved constructing several dozen ships of various types for Italian Navy operations in the Indian Ocean. The sketch of this unusual 8,000-ton cruiser included eight 6-inch (152 mm) guns, 3.5-inch (90 mm) dual-purpose guns, and a 360-degree rotating aft turret.

The key features of this Italian cruiser include fully rotating main battery turrets, a long firing range, and stealthy torpedoes with an extensive reach. Moreover, her movement speed is quite high, and this is complemented by effective maneuverability.

To maximize your advantage on the seas, consider these ship upgrades:

  • Aiming Systems Mod. 1
  • Steering Gears Mod. 2
  • Concealment System Mod. 1
