Through the Spy Glass: Sevastopol
Sevastopol was an unfinished cruiser project. The concept emerged in May 1940, after the Naval Academy conducted tactical exercises involving the Project 69 cruiser and battleships Scharnhorst and Dunkerque. The results showed that replacing the 12-inch (305 mm) guns with German 15-inch (380 mm) guns would significantly increase the cruiser's firepower. Later, a contract was signed with the German company Krupp to supply six turrets, intended for installation on cruisers Kronshtadt and Sevastopol. The new ship was scheduled to be launched in 1942, but the outbreak of the war caused the project to be canceled.
Sevastopol is a Soviet Legendary Tier cruiser—a capable sniper armed with highly accurate 380 mm guns, as well as an effective Repair Party and Engine Boost.
