Pan-American Cruisers Are Coming to Early Access

Captains, a new Tech Tree line of Pan-American cruisers arrives on March 30! From Tier IV, these ships come with a unique Advanced Sonar that gives early warnings of enemy torpedo launches as far as 10 km away, showing the most recent enemy torpedo launch even while inactive.

Watch this video for tips on playing the new ships:

From March 30 to May 4, Tier III–VIII ships will be available in Early Access crates, and a new Legendary Tier ship—the pinnacle of this Tech Tree—will be available in a special bundle. The Tier I and II ships become available to research in the Tech Tree with the release of the update, and they are accompanied by the default Pan-American Commander, Pedro Lima Santos. We've also created unique skins for the new Tier III and higher cruisers, and you can obtain them using a special currency.

We've also prepared the Pan-American Legacy card collection, a special Calendar featuring a new Pan-American Commander, and a new Port—Rio de Janeiro. Read on to learn more!

A Closer Look at the New Tech Tree Line

Tier I Hércules

EN_PVSC101_Hercules_PM_T1_CA_Screenshot_j25118_8_2_PR_Media_1920x1080_WoWSL.jpg

Hércules is a Tier I cruiser based on a real River-class frigate built in Canada in 1942. The ship served in the U.S. Navy as USS Asheville until 1946 as a convoy escort and anti-submarine patrol vessel. She was later sold to Argentina, which initially named her Hércules and then renamed her Juan B. Azopardo. Hércules will be immediately available in the Tech Tree from this update.

Tier II Vicente Guerrero

EN_PVSC103_Vicente_Guerrero_PM_T2_CA_Screenshot_j25118_8_2_PR_Media_1920x1080_WoWSL.jpg

Vicente Guerrero is based on a real cruiser—Navarra (post-1938 modernization)—but reimagined as if the ship had been sold to Mexico by Spain. Her unique feature for a Tier II ship is access to Repair Party. You can unlock Vicente Guerrero in the Tech Tree by first unlocking lower-tier Hércules.

Tier III Córdoba

EN_PVSC104_Cordoba_PM_T3_CA_Screenshot_j25118_8_2_PR_Media_1920x1080_WoWSL.jpg

Córdoba is based on a Danae-class cruiser from Britain that could have been purchased by Colombia in 1933 as a response to growing Peruvian naval power. Historically, this purchase never occurred. In addition to her standard armament, Córdoba features torpedoes, Repair Party, and Sonar.

Tier IV La Argentina

EN_PVSC105_La_Argentina_PM_T4_CA_Screenshot_j25118_8_2_PR_Media_1920x1080_WoWSL.jpg

La Argentina is a historical one-of-a-kind ship built for Argentina by Vickers-Armstrong in the UK. She's essentially an Arethusa-class cruiser but with increased displacement and nine guns in three triple-gun turrets instead of six in twin-gun turrets. She's the first ship to feature a new consumable, Advanced Sonar, which works like standard Sonar but also shows the approximate bearing of the most recent enemy torpedo launch within 10 km, even if the consumable is not currently active or on cooldown. Advanced Sonar does not indicate the trajectory of torpedoes, only the point of origin.

Tier V Almirante Cochrane

EN_PVSC106_Almirante_Cochrane_PM_T5_CA_Screenshot_j25118_8_2_PR_Media_1920x1080_WoWSL.jpg

This ship is based on the Duca degli Abruzzi-class cruiser, reimagined as if it had been exported to Chile and armed with four twin-gun mounts. In addition to torpedoes and the unique Advanced Sonar, she can also be equipped with Smoke Generator or Repair Party in Slot 3, and Catapult Fighter or Defensive AA Fire in Slot 4.

Tier VI Coronel Bolognesi

EN_PVSC107_Coronel_Bolognesi_PM_T6_CA_Screenshot_j25118_8_2_PR_Media_1920x1080_WoWSL.jpg

Coronel Bolognesi was originally a Fiji-class cruiser named HMS Ceylon. After World War II, she underwent a substantial refit, and she was transferred to the Peruvian Navy in 1959. She's equipped with 152 mm guns and a combination of Advanced Sonar; Smoke Generator in Slot 3, swappable with Repair Party; and Defensive AA Fire in Slot 4.

Tier VII Ignacio Allende

EN_PVSC108_Ignacio_Allende_PM_T7_CA_Screenshot_j25118_8_2_PR_Media_1920x1080_WoWSL.jpg

This ship is a hypothetical light cruiser that could have been ordered from the U.S. by Argentina, Brazil, or Chile. She features a conventional eight-gun layout in four twin-gun turrets, with rapid-firing 152 mm main guns similar to those of Legendary Tier cruiser Worcester. In addition, she's equipped with torpedoes and a versatile set of consumables: Advanced Sonar, a choice between Smoke Generator and Repair Party in Slot 3, and a choice between Catapult Fighter and Defensive AA Fire in Slot 4.

Tier VIII Santander

EN_PVSC109_Santander_PM_T8_CA_Screenshot_j25118_8_2_PR_Media_1920x1080_WoWSL.jpg

If Colombia had decided to order a new ship from the U.S. after the Rio de Janeiro Treaty of 1947, it could have been Santander—a cruiser based on the American Worcester-class ships. She's equipped with three triple-gun turrets with nine fast-firing 152 mm main guns like those of Legendary Tier cruiser Worcester. Like the lower-tier ships in the line, she's also equipped with torpedoes and an adjustable set of consumables, allowing the use of Advanced Sonar and providing a choice between Smoke Generator or Repair Party in Slot 3, and the option of Defensive AA Fire or Catapult Fighter in Slot 4.

Legendary Tier San Martín

EN_PVSC110_San_Martin_PM_T9_CA_Screenshot_j25118_8_2_PR_Media_1920x1080_WoWSL.jpg

San Martín is a hypothetical cruiser that could have been ordered by Argentina from the U.K. or U.S. after World War II. Her turret layout is unconventional (triple–twin–twin–triple), mounting 10 rapid-firing 152 mm main guns similar to those of Legendary Tier cruiser Worcester. She's also armed with torpedoes, and her consumable setup follows the pattern of the Tech Tree line: a powerful combination of Advanced Sonar; Smoke Generator in Slot 3, swappable with Repair Party; and Defensive AA Fire in Slot 4, which can be replaced by Catapult Fighter.
