1 pointSo Im going to talk about what I view as good and whats not good/needing improvement. I want to say first off that I am a 3 year player on PC with 112 ships in port currently and commander of the 8492 Squadron Clan. So I do have a bit of experiance. First off the Goods; Graphics They are wonderful. Its very rare that there will be more graphic details on a Console than a PC regarding splashes of the water when a shell hits the water. It was absolutely stunning to see the effects. Controls. At first, I was a skeptic about the controls. I was worried that it would be weird in comparison to the Key Board and Mouse but the way the actions are mapped. Its easy to pick up and get going. There were times of course as a veteran player that my left thumb would stray to the D Pad to accelerate or decrease speed. The only thing that concerns me with the D Pad and abilities is that currently Seattle has Defensive AA, Radar, Hydro, Repair and Heal. That is a total of 5 abilities and the D pad only has 4 directions. So I can see Wargaming needing to change how some ships work by reducing their ability in comparison to PC. Anyway, it was a job well done and near seamless transition from Keyboard to Controller. Gameplay. It was thrilling to play World of Warships on a huge flat screen tv. The gameplay was extremely engaging to the extent that I spent a non stop 16 hours. You also dont have to always worry about scrolling to zoom in on your target and aiming was smooth. I did however notice that the gameplay was faster paced. I mean much much more faster. Needs of improvements / Dislikes Map. Okay, so Im going to say the one thing that bugged me most was the map. I absolutely absolutely hated how invasive it was to my field of vision while at the same time still a bit too small for me to see the details I need to see. I need to have the ability to make it larger and more transparent so as not to affect the field of vision while at the same time getting the details I need like the PC. Also, not only was the map invasive and a bit too small to read details. I dont have enough intel on the map. I need more than just firing range fan and ship detectability. I need air detectability, I need Secondaries and AA range fans. I need hydro and radar. These range fans are crucial to the gameplay that dictates actions and I think there should be a part in the options menu to customize your map the way you want it. Lastly, when hitting the back button on Xbox One Controller. It shows the map in full screen mode with grids. I think you should be allowed to highlight grids from there to focus attention to a location as well as having ABC, 123 to identify grids. I had an issue with location communication with my team when I was unable to discuss locational tactics. 3rd Person View I enjoy seeing the ship close up at times but in all honesty. The 3rd person view needs to be set further back from the ship. The worst thing in player gameplay aside from trolling is tunnel vision. Unfortunately, with the 3rd person so close to the ship. It severely reduces my peripheral vision and gives me more tunnel vision. I kept slamming into islands while fighting which I rarely ever do on PC. Commanders I feel a bit off with the Commander situation. I feel like it's a bit restrictive and lacking in choices. I dont want a this or that choice and when the commander levels up, so too does the quality of the skill. This is a moment of which the saying " if it aint broke, dont fix it" applies and no need to " reinvent the wheel." Lastly, The Inability to Prioritize a Target for Secondaries/AA. Maybe Ive completely missed it or I had no idea how to use it. However I am most certainly not the only one in a group of veterans that I've played with that were wondering the same thing. How do I priority Target?? I could not figure it out nor could they. If it doesnt exist, make it happen Wargaming. If it does, make it more obvious cause it went way over our heads and couldn't figure it out.

1 pointHello developers! You've no doubt received a lot of input on this, and probably some of this will be redundant. Hopefully there will be some new things you will find helpful. First of all, I really like what you've done with this game! Very much looking forward to the final production version when it's done, assuming early next year. I especially LOVED the player-on-AI option this game has and would HIGHLY recommend it's inclusion in a later version of WOT. Just sad I couldn't get to play the Yamato this time around! Yes, there are a few minor glitches, but that's to be expected. The fact that there weren't that many to begin with is a very good thing. It actually reminded me of the old days playing the various versions of Taldren's Starfleet Command series, which I enjoyed immensely. In fact, if you managed to acquire the licensing to reskin your models for Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek and/or Star Wars, you would have a seriously kick-a$$ starship combat simulator on your hands and canonical ship lineages are well-documented for those universes. Anyways, on to the comments. As a developer myself, I understand the value of comprehensive bug reports as well as prioritization of said bugs so that more critical things could be given extra focus over smaller things and nice-to-have's. High Priority: 1 full game crash - All game play freezes and about 5 frames of sound play repetitively, making the hung "buzzsaw" sound effect. This only happened once, so I couldn't detect a discernible pattern to ascertain what caused it. Hopefully your beta version was sending exception data back to your servers to nail it down. 2 temporary freezes - Game play temporarily froze for several seconds and then picked up again later after updating the ship's new position based on velocity and directional vectors. It was reminiscent of server lag that I experienced when there was too much latency on the network. Also an uncommon occurrence. 4 disconnects from server - This was not the same as the frequent "server full" errors that I got when trying to get into a new game (that other message is understandable and doesn't need further elaboration). This would happen only when in the ship "garage", punting me out back to the first reminder screen with the "this is a Beta" message. This would never happen when in an actual game. Medium Priority: Communication wheel menu stopped working on second day. It would come up when I hit the bumper, but I couldn't actually select a message with either the trigger or "A" button. Selecting the message with the left stick while holding down the left bumper with the same hand is also awkward. Recommend WOT model where left bumper brings it up, right stick selects and "A" button or right trigger sends the message. Low Priority: When going to the full player list w/ the big map, the selection box should default to the player's boat first. For now, it seems like it's position up and down the team list appears random. Use WOT green icons for team ships and yellow icon for your ship in the lineup. The blue icons with teal player marker makes it very hard to determine which one you are. Add commas for the thousands and million number places. Us Americans don't understand blanks or periods for those things like the Europeans use. The animated loading anchor logo (they used to call these things "throbbers" in the early days of the web) flickers and jumps around oddly every time it comes up. Nice-to-have: More consumable & equipment types, camo patterns and banners, which I suspect we'll likely see in later versions of the game. More ops to earn "promotion orders" & "insignias" to up-level legendary commanders. A key to what all the new equipment icons mean. Took me a while to dig down and find what the acoustic sonar was all about. Maybe a less cumbersome way to switch between guns and torpedoes. Not sure of a better way to do this at present. I just know my fingers got confused when in the midst of a fight and I was trying to switch to torps and I accidentally switched gun ammo, resetting the reload clock. That was a bit frustrating. Questions: How does AA work? I didn't see any buttons for that and I was hoping it may be automatic, but I kept getting strafed by attack planes and couldn't shoot them down. I'm assuming one gets more personal commendations by playing more mission ops in a more complete game, but would like to confirm that? Didn't seem to get any this time around and my commanders were all stuck at level 16. I think that about covers it for this run. Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with in the months ahead. Thanks for doing this!

1 pointHonestly, other than a few very minor tweaks and bug fixes, this game is launch ready. I noticed very little problems with the game and it runs better than world of tanks does most of the time. I hope for a swift release of the full game in the coming months.
-
1 pointNot yet, I imagine it's due to it still being in beta phase and everything will be reset at games launch. Stat tracking at this point in development is typically low priority. Hopefully will be added at launch or close afterwords.

1 pointI got on really well with the controller so will done! I was a tad dubious about how it would work but I found that most things fell to hand and the conversion form keyboard to controller was pretty easy and natural. Thanks :)

1 pointConsidered this was the first beta test the game mechanics were very good obviously the developers will be working hard to improve it but yes it gets my vote I honestly hope this game comes quick to ps4 it'll be as popular as the tanks if not more !

1 point@John-berg1995 The smoke Nerf on DD's is temporary. Can't remember the exact reason but had to do with AI DD's during standard battles. It should of only affected tier 3,4 DD's during the closed beta as well.
-
1 pointIt's an educated guess, not only taking from past examples but also because the focus up until now seems to be gameplay. Graphics are secondary and to be fair they are ok as is so they don't need to worry about it atm.
-
1 pointAgree with most of that, but want to echo the comment about secondaries, I couldn’t find a way to prioritize targets. also agree with the speed of play, it’s way faster than the pc version and I too found myself running aground while targeting. very impressed with it though, I didn’t think the transition to console would work but it’s excellent!

1 pointOverall, I think the game is fantastic and the Beta Version is beyond my expectation. I will recommend it to my friends and other WOWS players in China, definitely. However, I'd like to express some of my thoughts on this version. Hope it can do good to the future optimization of the game. 1. Suggest adding the custom options for game UI. To make it possible for the players to adjust the size, position and the kind of the UI factors on the screen. I played the game via XBX on my 55-inch TV in living room, but sometimes I found some UI factors was a little bit small for me (e.g. the minimap, weapon indicator, fire/flooding indicator). So I hope I can adjust the UI in future. 2. Suggest modifying the Captain system. I understand the Captain system in Beta version is much easier than PC version. The best thing I think should be a Captain can be used in different warships without re-education. I'm not sure this will also work in release version but it does save lot of the player's time. However, I don't think the current Perk-tree model is most ideal because I cannot choose the Perks I needed most. In this case, the different characterized Captains may not be possible and the fun of fostering a personalized Captain may be decreased. 3. Suggest opening the Tier VIII - X. I noticed that to fit the Tier system in Beta version, some warships' tiers have been modified (e.g. US BB New York to IV, US CA Baltimore to VII, etc.). I think the less tiers may be a reason for the more intense but short-time battles (9v9, 15min time limit). However, I don't think the WOWS on console should follow the same way on mobile devices. Mobile games need rapid battles, but I would like to spend much time in my couch with controller, just like or even longer than sitting in front of PC. I really enjoy unlocking and purchasing the warships, seeing my fleet grows bigger and stronger. In this regard, could you please add more tiers with more warships? Thanks WG again for the efforts you have made on WOWSL. Hope I can have another chance to witness the improvement of the game.

1 pointHi all, Just is just some of my initial first thoughts on Legends. I have playing playing console tanks for 4 years, World of Warships on the PC for 3, and World of Warships Blitz for about 2 months. Some of these items might be more opinion based preferences than game issues. 1. The HUD layout feels a bit awkward. I think I would prefer the mini-map in the lower right hand corner as opposed to the upper left. It might just be me needing to take some getting used to, but after 3 hours of play this morning it still feels a bit off to me. Console Tanks and PC Ships are lower right and it feels more natural to me there. 2. Controller settings? How about using the letter buttons for consumables? Then using the D pad for adjusting weapon systems and throttle. 'UP' would be forward (several taps to increase throttle) and 'DOWN' would be reverse. 'RIGHT' could be ammo type (if using Guns) or Torp spreads, 'LEFT" would be weapon changing (torps or guns). Or at least making this layout an option. 3. I assume at some point we will be able to look at after action reports, see everyone's stats, kills, and so on. 4. I did notice a few times that when you turn your ship towards incoming torpedoes, your ship will block your view of the torps. DDs this isn't too much of a problem but on larger ships losing where that torp gets blocked by your ship. Maybe change the angles of the camera view a bit? 5. Changing camera views. I'm ok with using the button and that's not an issue. But maybe a 3rd view. You can have Close, Middle and Far. The ship always seems to close to the camera. Having a farther back view might also help with #5 above. 6. Radial Commands. I am going to guess that at some point we will have additional options? Like while in Radial view being able to press A or B to switch 'pages' to show additional communication options. 7. An option to see your ships stats while in game. I know on the PC simply holding down 'H' will your ships stats. Obviously we cannot do this on console. But maybe using the game menu button. Where you can quit, continue, settings on the left, on the right show your ships stats. Gun Range, Damage, Detection Range, Max Speed, Torp Ranges and Damage, Visibility ranges.. I'll probably add more to this thread as I play the game and get a better feel for it. I'm not even sure this is the right place for it, so Mod/Admin feel free to move it if needed. I do like the game. It does seem a bit simplistic, closer in relation to Blitz like it's optimized for a mobile device instead of a console. I'll keep plugging away. Is there any NDA about posting videos on youtube on the game play? Can I do that? I probably missed a thread that said NOOOOOOO. lol -Wraith

1 pointTier 7, but there may not be enough players at the higher tiers to get standard matches.

1 pointIt's not really punishing. He declared he has no interested in this kind of beta "plan" that doesn't retain anything post release so it's only right to remove him from the pool since he doesn't want to participate right? He has declared he doesn't want to, it's not punishing but abiding to one's wishes.
-
1 point@T33kanne is there a way to reward @electronaut1976 for his awesome behavior and take him out of the future beta pools?
-
1 pointAmazing that people like this get access to the BETA, but others who will actually be grateful and provide feedback, like me, do not.

1 pointPART III 11. Upgrades (again) - The choice to decide which upgrades to purchase would be nice. Do I want an engine upgrade, gun upgrade or torp upgrade? The whole upgrade system seems like a copy/paste of Blitz, I understand the need for that one to be so simplified it's for a mobile device, but so far I'm rather disappointed with it. It is even LESS COMPLICATED than the Blitz.. how did you manage that? The cost in XPs seems random? What's the deciding factor on how much XP an upgrade costs? 12. Captains - While this is completely different from PC, I do like it. It is taking some getting used to though. The choices in skill and the way the skills can be improved I think is interesting. Also the fact that you can change around your skills without spending gold to do it (looking at you PC) is a good thing, and hopefully that stays.
-
1 pointPART II 8. Upgrades - I feel that we need to able to remove them if we do not like the change. Maybe with a partial refund on credits. There are some upgrades that do not always feel worth it depending on your playing style. IE.. Clemson Final Torp upgrade adds +1800 damage, and also adds +26 seconds to the reload. If you purchase it and decide you'd rather have the faster reload you are stuck with it. 9. Upgrades 2 - On the ship upgrade I would like to see the stats impacted by the upgrade in a side by side comparison of Before/After without having to jump back out all the way to the tech tree to see stats. 10. Tech Tree - Found what I was missing. 😄 Probably more thoughts to come.
-
1 pointSo are the PC versions and they don't need packages.
-
1 pointI'd be really happy if WoWSL didn't have premium /gold /skill / purple rounds.
-
1 pointI'm looking forward to this version, looks like it forces you to play more to advance, as opposed to just buying and skipping your way up
-
1 pointI’m looking forward to this game when it finally releases. I’m hoping that this forum will be properly moderates as well as forums tend to become toxic when not properly policed.

1 pointThe mighty jingles video is the reason i am here. God bless jingles "even a broken clock is right twice a day"
-
1 pointwell. They can not ban people from console. But they can ban people from playing their game. and mixing pink players with other pink players only could also work.
-
1 pointi guess i'll re-post a TLDR of my response to this news then. 1. - if someone wants to be an asshole and grief, they will find a way. removing friendly fire won't stop the trolls. 2. - friendly fire stat tracking and banning is much easier then trying to track other various ways of griefing (such as pushing and beaching team mates) 3. - team damage reflection from PC works great, why can't we have that here? except it didn't, the trolls started pushing people out of cover, pushing scouts out of bushes, over cliffs, drowning team mates, blocking movement, i can go on.
-
1 pointWhy would you need a 3rd party chat service for a Console game? My Clan mates and I, on PS4, use the provided Party Chat system from Sony and it’s great. As dedicated Console players, not everyone has or uses a PC.

0 pointsLove the Beta, I was able to get the New Mexico Battle Ship with the 1st 2 upgrades. Can't wait till the game is acctually released. Also hoping we get to continue from the Tier we left at. For me it was Tier 5. If had another day I might've made it to Tier 6. I had no lag issues and felt as though the beta is set for the release. Also would definitely be interested in being a CC for World of Warships. I would love to be able to teach others on the game and definitely would recommend this game to everyone. I also play World of Tanks and currently with over 200 Tanks. It was a year September 23 since playing World of Tanks. I do believe I've found my calling card with World of Ships, and I want to thank Wargaming for letting me be a Beta Tester. Also want to wish all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!
