Had this delivered today: “Japanese Warships of World War II”, 1966. I was blown away to learn two “battleship-carriers” were actually built and participated in battle! EDIT: Apparently these exist in Blitz... which I don’t play so was clueless about.

it is subjective if the players perceives the balance adjustments as fair. that's all. i myself did not find the hindenburgs dpm nerf justified at that time, especially in the light of Worchester and other very strong ships but it did not change the fact, that the HE damage was too much over the course of the game. you can not account for players inability to learn that is true but people also don't want to accept the fact that a nerf to their favorite ship might be better for the game.

One thing you cannot really account for is player inability( to put it nicely). Some BB users will never learn not to sail in a straight line broadside and fail their way to max tier and complain each step of the way. Who do you balance the ships and skills around, the super uni that can make anything look good or the bottom of the rung player who's ship is stuck in a perpetual spin cycle? Balance may be measurable, but in the end it's subjective to will of the customers/playerbase perceptions. You could perfectly balance every aspect of the game in just about every possible measurable metric, but if the players don't believe it is then it's not.

all i am reading from you is "if" and "when". on PC, there are only a hand full of viable ships and skills when it comes to competitive play. Extreme cookie cutter builds, min maxed to the limit. have you looked at the PC skill table? It only looks like variety. But arp. 1/4 of the skills are cv only. Another 1/4 is more or less too situational to be viable. especially the secondary gun skills are not really viable in competitive. Every class more or less skills into the same area with only a few differences. most DDs use the same basic setup and only vary the last 9 points. some skills can be found in almost all builds, because they are universally good. Others are more or less niche like wider smoke. if it really boils down to four cookie cutter captains, those can easily be adjusted to balance them. and since you brought the broad majority into the equation: They implemented a feature in wows PC, that crosses out skills, that are not useful for the ship you are playing, because most people were not able to see, that a second catapult fighter on a DD is as useful as nipples on a piece of chest armor.

Hello! There will be no migration or cross-platform experience between PC and consoles. We want to state that WoWs: Legends is a separate project. As for the welcome packages - it is still too early to talk about that. We shall share more information closer to the release. Believe me, if we have spoilers for you - we will deliver them immediately 😉

Hey Bud, just read your thread. While I played as a DD. Yes, the smoke at first lasted 15 ish seconds and I would have had an issue with that too if it continued. However at Tier 4, theyre about a minute so world is back to normal. I did not notice at all that the DDs have been nerfed to the extent that they have been ruined or severely disadvantaged. I felt they were perfectly balanced considering how there is way more dds than BBs on average anyway, still hard to hit with BBs increased dispersion rate and the lack of secondary priority target ability. I do agree with you that the World of Warships did feel a lil better on a BB side of things in relation to going against DDs when they're hard charging at you. Its good for DDs to once again fear the King of the Seas at close range and respect the capitol ship which isint as recognized on PC. Lastly, I agree with you 100 percent that if the game is close encounter and faster paced. Then the concealment of DDs likewise should be more stealthy and detectability range fans smaller. The game isint finished yet and we did play low to mid tiers so final judgement. DDs are still nicely balanced.
