18 pointsGreetings everyone! My name is Kristian aka T33kanne, I am 26 years old and want to introduce myself as the new Community Manager for WoWs: Legends. I am a very passionate World of Warships Player and some of you may now me from the PC Version. I started playing video games at the age of 14. The first games i picked up were based in FPS and MMORPG gerne. A friend suggested World of Warships to me in August 2015 and i picked it up as one of my favourite games since then. When I started playing WoWs I tried to play every class. I quickly realised that the battleship class is my most favourite. For the first five months I was a pretty casual player until I joined my first clan in January 2016 "MDIV" - Deutsche Marine Division. In September 2016 I joined "OMNI" - Odem Mortis International and participated in several Tournaments. After leaving "OMNI" in February 2018 we created, together with a bunch of french competitive players, "RAIN" - Rejective and Idealistic Narcissists and we were able to secure the 1st place of the 6th King of the Sea Tournament after only 4 months of creation. So I can tell you, I am very excited to be able join the WoWs: Legends Team and support you guys from "the other Side". Now a few points to my person: I moved from Germany to Prague so I am not based in St. Petersburg. I’m here to make sure that you guys have someone to talk to if you need anything. I will answer your questions and forward concerns to the Devs. (I hope there won't be any 😉 ) So if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. Turn the tide and stay awesome!

11 pointsLegends and gentlemen! It is without joy or sorrow that we bring you this update, but in essence PS Alpha is not going to start now, and it moves to the beginning of October. We don't have a delay in development, but rather decided to bring you the more polished product with many a bug already taken care of even at the alpha stage. Development for PlayStation goes pretty much hand in hand with the Xbox process with some caveats. That said, the version PS testers will see is going to be identically updated to its Xbox counterpart, and leave you with a smaller "Known issues" list than we would have otherwise. So please stay put, we're getting closer and basically in a month you should be able to start turning the tide on your Playstation consoles!

9 pointsGuys, who have registered for the beta weekend, this post is to clarify what the next steps are! 1. When? The weekend will begin on Friday, December 21 and last until Sunday, December 24 (UTC 4:00 is when the servers will go down). 2. How do I know that I'm in? If you receive a follow-up e-mail with a code that's a good indication! The mailouts will happen no earlier than 2 days before the weekend. Redeem said code in your platform store, download the game and join the fun! If you receive a letter with a code it means that the servers are live. UPDATE: Mailouts are about to begin on Dec. 21 UTC 4:00 3. What if I don't receive anything? You might not get access, but you will still get your goodies when the game is released! Moreover, this isn't the only beta-weekend we plan on having. Those goodies will include various consumables that can boost your progress in the game. 4. Is there a way to get something extra during the weekend? Play 10 games in any mode and you will receive a special beta weekend flag when the game is released! 5. What happens after the weekend ends? We're going back to closed testing, however you'll be able to find everything that happens to the game. Moreover, there will be at least another beta weekend, so stay tuned! 6. Do I retain access to the game after the beta weekend if I registered recently? Unfortunately, no. We want as many people to join the fun and tell us what they think, but there is still much work to be done before we release, so we hope for your understanding. 7. Where do I find more about what WoWs: Legends is about? It's a naval action game that offers you a great console experience with legendary warships and historic commanders keeping you company while wreak havoc upon the seas! To find out some more in-depth info, please refer to these posts: Why are Legends the way they are? Commanders in Legends 8. I want to get better in the game! Now! Easy, young commander! Feel free to go through our guides section. 9. I found a bug, I found a bug!!!!!!! Please report it either here, or on our Discord server in the appropriate section. Also, check the Known issues thread first! If you're sure that your bug is new, please provide a brief description of it, any screenshots/videos, your platform, timestamp (with the timezone included). Sometimes we would also ask for your platform nickname but we will reach out to you for that. 10. Is there an NDA of any sort, may I stream? We currently have no NDA, so please stream away. Unfortunately, you won't be able to stream with native Xbox tools yet, but otherwise we're not limiting you from sharing the fun. Turn the tide!

9 pointsWelcome, captains! 🙂 We're happy to see you here. Please make yourself at home and enjoy. While all of us (both players and devs) are eagerly waiting for Alpha to start, let's have a good time chatting here. And if you're ok with it, introduce yourself in this thread and say hi so we know you better. I know we're building the base of future WoWSL community together. Let's make it the best place to be from the start 🙂 Cheers!

7 pointsGreetings Legends! My name is Robin Sy, I'm 24 yo, and this is my short introduction as the new Community Manager for World Of Warships Legends EN/FR. I am fresh out of France as much as I am fresh out of the PC version of World Of Warships, and I'm quite excited to experience the game and meet the community around it! Some of you might also know me as TheSailingRobin, on YouTube. I've been creating diverse content since November 2016. (shameless plug alert) Feel free to go and have a look if you're interested [https://www.youtube.com/thesailingrobin] How have I discovered Warships? Well that's a good question since I can't even remember the answer. It seems like I've been playing this game ever since it was released, or at least since the early days. I've witnessed it develop over the years into something I became quite addicted to. The mix between intense competitive action and almost unlimited strategy got me hooked up in the early days, but I quickly realized that team play was one of the key element of the game. So you'll see me quite often in a high tier division on the EU server. What are my go-to ships? I'm a cruiser main on PC (Des Moines) but I honestly enjoy all classes, except CV. I'll need to get my grip on Console to get an opinion on the version. What other games do I play? Plenty of others! I try to stay away from big titles and focus on story driven games and open worlds (Deus Ex series - Dayz - Xcom2 - Astroneer - Subnautica). I'm here for any questions and concerns, and as an experienced, dedicated and passionate player that will get to learn Wows Legends with you, I'm very open to discussions. Do not hesitate to contact me, I'm quite available. On a more personal note, I moved to Prague on the 27th of February 2019 so that's where I'm based now.< I'm an addicted video editor and I'm trying to get a PHD in memes. Also, I like dogs. Wait, is that even useful information? Cheers, and turn the tides!

4 points1. Generally speaking BB's are the hard counter to cruisers, cruisers are the hard counter to DD's, and DD's are the hard counter to BB's. 2. Any match I tried to camp, regardless of class I'm using leads to defeat. Ask some of the best players here such as T33kanne, @KaLeuWillenbrock, @Not Cerberus, etc. they will all tell you the same thing. Camping leads to lost matches. 3. See point 2 but replace camping with edge riding.

4 pointsI think one of the biggest mistakes the console tanks team made was treating asset development like a national security matter. There was never any excitement generated from new tanks or lines because they wouldn't tell us what they were doing. The Dev Blog for WoWs PC is fantastic. We can see what's close to release, what's still being tested, and what's further down the pipeline. Look how much buzz Prinz Eitel Friedrich has generated, and we don't even know when it will be released yet. Same goes for upcoming changes in mechanics, consumables, etc. Just having an idea what's in store is a big deal. Please don't lose that openness on the console version.

3 pointsA legendary hello to you, captains! Sorry for the cheesy title. This is just a friendly reminder that our Discord server is alive and well and if you haven't already joined it, now is the time! Crucial announcements about the game, alpha test coordination and some silly banter are all happening there, so if you prefer some real-time communications - that's the place!

3 pointsNo this was the January Patch with a few changes 😉 We will announce the "Beta-Weekend" soon enough.
-
3 points@KaLeuWillenbrock this will not stop cookie cutter captain builds, no more than the PC does. Everyone will gravitate to what works. The thinking this will add more choice or better balance things is just an illusion.
-
3 points@PietroMaximoff i think you make a good point about how people choose to play their games. I'm in my 40's and I still sit directly in front of my tv just like I did when I was a kid playing Atari/NES. Although I will admit it does no favors for my back lol.
-
3 pointsYes you will - once you will receive the E-Mail with a Code there will be an instruction. The Mailing will start on the 18.12. - the CB Weekend will start on the 21.12.
-
3 pointsAs an Alpha tester for WoWS, I'm really excited to see Warships coming to consoles. I am worried about the beta weekend falling RIGHT before Christmas. I hope my family will understand why I'm in the game room the whole weekend 🙂
-
3 pointsMonday, September 17, tune into WoWs anniversary stream to find out more about Legends gameplay and get a chance to become a part of the alpha! The stream begins at 14:00 UTC and the Legends section hits hard at 17:10 UTC. Turn the tide!

3 pointsFor everyone that missed the anniversary stream - here is the Legends part 😉

-
3 pointsLet me dispel some misconceptions, sir 🙂 We're not putting any platform before any other platform per se, however we're trying to get on with the times, and a significant part of our potential playerbase does prefer the rapid pace of Discord to a measured yet, slower forum. We do double all of the news items both platforms, however, so there's no disrespect towards any of our community members. Another reason why Discord might be more popular among the future Legends is that many of them (if not most) are communicating using their phones, which do go well together with Discord. Forum is usually preferred by PC users whose numbers are not that high in our particular case, but in the end of the day - to each their own, and we're not depriving any platform of information. When it comes to Reddit, there are couple of things at the moment that prevent a fully functional sub. First, it is an open resource and we're still in the closed stages of our testing. Second it is a community-ran platform, which we can at most recognize, and I believe with time there will be a subreddit which we interact with regularly. Then again, maybe you're trolling and I write all of this for nothing, but if not, I hope you have your answers now 🙂

-
3 pointsHey, we absolutely appreciate your enthusiasm, but keep in mind that all of the details of actual game will be under NDA during the alpha. Therefore we offer to concentrate communications in our official Discord server, available here: https://discord.gg/m8qVMbS Of course this is up to you, but please be mindful of what you share on your servers. Updated the link.
-
2 pointsAll in-game items and progress, whether from the store or earned via progression and missions will be wiped at the end of this beta. When the game launches, you will start completely afresh aside from the pre-registration goodies. If you took part in 10 or more battles, you will also receive a special commemorative flag some time after launch
-
2 pointsCant wait for the 22-24 for the second beta test starting 1 day after my birthday. Full release is dated April 16 Do we know when invite codes emails get sent out cus I really hope I get in

2 pointsPositive sides to both arguments, nice discussion. Ultimately it comes down to the fact that having FF on would be great, in a perfect world where we all ptfo. Sadly we dont, having FF on is too great a risk, it makes trolls lives much easier and the detrimental effect it would have far outweighs the good.
-
2 pointsin my opinion, tier 10 is not the endgame content. It only looks like it. The games don't have end game content except ranked battles. with the economy changes, you can sail tier 10 exclusively and make profit. I brought two premium camos for my favorite tier ten ships (and many more for mid tier ones) and even 💩 games are not a problem to compensate. Add premium account to the equation and credits are piling up like its nothing. endgame content is what is where you spend time because you like the content. if you like to spend time on your tier ten ships, its your end game content. I have spent enough time in tier 10, to get over it. its not fun to play. Tiers seven and six are.my personal endgame, because the matches there are more dynamic and fun in general. the only mode that can be seen as endgame content, is ranks 10 to 1, because you need to know what you are doing when playing there. Exceptions are players, who are as stubborn as stone and simply die their way up to rank one.
-
2 points@John-berg1995 The smoke Nerf on DD's is temporary. Can't remember the exact reason but had to do with AI DD's during standard battles. It should of only affected tier 3,4 DD's during the closed beta as well.
-
2 points@T33kanne is there a way to reward @electronaut1976 for his awesome behavior and take him out of the future beta pools?
-
2 pointsAs much as I hate the WOTC model, at least you had option to choose instead of forced linear line.
-
2 pointsColour me impressed. I love the higher torpedo view, the better perspective really helps when lining up shots. I love the captain system, the pc version just seemed fiddly and too micro intensive. I really like how the ship defaults to a straight line, so course corrections are exactly that. Corrections. Not commitments. Being a seasoned WOT Console player, the straight, situational, AP/HE choice is BEYOND refreshing. I’m known among my friends as a bit of a rager...many a controller has been lost on the line of duty. But this hits the adrenaline just right, with soooo much less RNG/luck based punishments. It rewards skill. If you do badly, just learn and do better. If I surprise a destroyer he is RIP. I outplay him, poof, reward. I love the reload circles in the middle, I had no idea how you guys would implement that on console, but wow. Top notch, it conveys information such as gun position, turn rate, and the reload status of every individual gun/turret seamlessly. Seriously give the brain box that came up with that a bonus!! I like the module/upgrade progression system, if i were to be nit picky, I’d say it was a touch “too” simplistic, was hoping for more customisation, but I’m only at tier 4 so that may well come later!! One “tiny” other thing... we are all used to the map in the bottom right, wot console, wot pc and WOW pc are all bottom right... I find myself never looking at it or just glancing at my ammo selection. It’s like suddenly driving on the wrong side of the road... you can do it... but you’ll probably hit a lot more mountains... Anyway, thank you for putting up with my Essay, I’ll add more as I progress and if anything else jumps out at me! Thanks guys!!

I use the static crosshair myself due to the reasons you mentioned - the dynamic simply didn't work for me. A lot of players need a leader. At the beginning of the match I usually try to find out which caps our DDs will contest. I'll then offer support and push up with them, although lagging behind in order not to be immediately focused. Asking for a ship or two to join you will usually yeild decent results. If absolutely no one will contest a cap or push up, stick with the crowd and use them as meat shields while you farm as much as you can. Unlike tanks, failure to contest caps is basically a guaranteed loss. Notser and Flamu do an excellent job explaining strategy, if you're into watching some YouTube.

2 pointsBrogue is right. We are all going to be newbies when this starts. PC WoWS players may have a slight advantage from just knowing the general feel of the classes, and WoT console players may have a slight advantage from playing a console WG title and knowing a little more of what to expect from the controls. Everything beyond that little bit o' vagueness is out the window. Even the individual ships we love on the PC may be wildly different in Legends. On top of that potentially new maps, new stealth, new upgrades, new captain perks, new consumables, etc. We're all going to be smacking at this pinata pretty hard, each of us hoping to be the first to crack it open and get to the goodies.

2 pointsI have no life.... glad I’m not alone.... I’m glad to see so many Tankers sticking their noses out of the hatches to take in the salty air! I’ll have you all know that I sing Irish music and Sea Shanties professionally and I will gladly take up the post of Ship’s Minstrel or Shantyman. Oh the year was 1778....

2 pointsI’m looking forward to this. I play WoWs on PC, but WoTs Console is my jam. I’ve been waiting for this for years! Can I go ahead and sign up for Supertest now? I already test for Chicago.
